Trying to find any additional info on Simon Lycurgus Morgan b. 11-17-1835 Boone Co, MO d. 7-6-1910 Arkansas Co, AR (parents Samuel & Anne Morgan). His first wife was Sarah Elizabeth Moberly/Mobley Morgan. They were Clear Creek Twp farm neighbors & married in Vernon Co, MO in 9-27-1858. His dad-n-law was Hazal Petree Mobley/Moberly & a slave holder. Tensions over state rights & slavery was heating up. Simon & Sarah then relocated with two daughters, Emma A. & Rachael S.,across the KS/MO border to farm in Paris, Linn Co, KS. The Jayhawk/Bushwacker war heated up back & forth the border & Simon enlisted on 9-21-1863. Simon L. Morgan mustered in with M Company 15th Regiment Kansas Cavalry in October 1863. After the war he returned to Linn Co, KS and he and Sarah had another daughter in 1865, Mary F. Morgan. Simon then moved his family just south of Sherman, Grayson Co, TX. Simon L. Morgan farmed there & had their first son in 1868, Walter Lycurgis Morgan. His wife Sarah possibly died in 1888 either in MO or TX. In 1891, Simon Morgan married a much younger woman in Stuttgart, AR. Her name was Beulah O. Lane b. 11-13-1870 d. Feb 1965 Stuttgart, AR. Simon L. Morgan apparantly farmed in Goldman, AR for awhile. His son Walter Lycurgis Morgan did the same in Goldman, AR. Simon L. Morgan died in 1910 after having three kids with Beulah O. Lane Morgan. Walter L. Morgan died young in 4-22-1900 at 32 years old. I'd like to know why he died. His wife was widowed with six kids and remarried shortly after & relocated to Weleetka, OK. Her name was Annie Laura Abel/Abell Morgan & later Richardson. One of the sons between Annie & Walter Lycurgis Morgan was Admiral Dewey Morgan (my direct grandfather). He was born 1897 in Goldman, AR. Admiral later worked in Picher, OK & Lawton, OK. Admiral D. Morgan married a Nancy Marie Cole and had kids: Jack E. Morgan, Albert D. Morgan, Donnie Morgan, Joe Morgan, Violet Morgan & Janell Morgan. My father is Jack E. Morgan.
