I'm looking for other descendants of Ignace Daneau dit LaPlante and his wife Louise Morissette. Ignace and Louise had at least the following children:
1. Elide/Elis Daneau 2. Emelie Daneau 3. Marie LaPlante (md. Ezra Lamaire) 4. Alexandre Daneau (b. 17 July 1838) 5. M. Philomene Daneau (b. 16 Apr 1840) 6. Adeline Daneau (b. 1 Jan 1842) 7. Frederic Daneau (b. 19 July 1849) 8. Pierre Daneau LaPlante (b. 4 July 1853)
Ignace Daneau-LaPlante and Louise Morissette married 12 Apr 1836 at St-Michel-d'Yamaska, Yamaska, QC. They lived in the Saint Francois du Lac, Quebec, Canada area. At some point in time their son Pierre came to the United States. His obituary says that his family came to the US while he was a child, yet I have found Ignace and Louise in Canada in the 1881 Census. Did they move back to Canada or did Pierre (Peter) come to the US with other relatives?
The 1880 Census of Nebraska shows Peter (Pierre) living next door to John LaPlant, his wife, Mary and their children Salina 10, Delvina 8, Napoleon 6, Tilda 4, and Hada 2. I believe this may be an older brother to Peter, but can not locate them again in the census.
Peter married Florence Verville on 27 Jan 1873. Possible location of marriage is New Hampshire or Vermont. The family came to Nebraska around 1880 and then moved to New Ulm Minnesota. Peter & Florence are my great grandparents.
Would love to correspond with others working on this line or anyone with info on any of Peters' siblings.
