Hi William, I mistakenly researched the Morledge family from Brassington in Derbyshire, believing I was related to them with the Joseph you mentioned being my 3 times G/Grandfather. As it turns out it was a Joseph Morledge from Breadsall, also in Derbyshire. You are correct in saying that a Roger,John and Joseph did emigrate to U.S.A,but the Joseph was not a brother, he was we feel the nephew of the other two. I was working in conjunction with an Alan Morledge from America and we deduced that Joseph, at the time of his leaving England would have been around 50 years old, had it been the brother. The only alternative was Nephew Joseph born in 1798 in Brassington. If my memory serves me correctly, Roger lived in a place called Reepham in Norfolk and was involved in the beer industry and in the words of Alan, was a bit of a colourful character. Alan can be contacted via his sons E-Mail at; firstname.lastname@example.org. Alan and I believe there to be a link between the Breadsall Morledges and Brassington Morledges and some recently aquired information from around 1650 seems to point in that direction, though it will need further investigating.
