Hi Tim, I am a bit uncertain about whether the following is correct, however, I think that Alexander Morrice/Moris and Helen Masson/Messon are my 6G Grandparents. I believe they had a son called George(a) who was baptised at Nigg on 3 May 1741, but born about 1735.
If this George(a) is the same as my George(b) who married Anna Webster on 4 Jun 1754 at St Fitticks, then the first statement is true.If George(a) and George(b)are not the same, then I cannot yet claim Alexander and Helen as direct ancestors.
As far as I can sort out so far, George(b) and Anna had at least 5 children. The eldest of whom seems to be my 4G grandfather Alexander Moris/Morrice who was Baptised on 9 Mar 1755.This Alexander married Janet Webster sometime in Nov 1779 at St Fitticks.(He may also have married an Elizabeth Allan in 9 Aug 1789, but that is still not 'proven' by me.)
I would welcome yours and other people's thoughts on this piece of our family history!
