Hi Carolyn:
Your thoughts about the Morrells being a different family, made me adjust my focus, and I have the following from The History of Portland (Maine) by William Willis, 1865, has this to say:
"Peter Morrell lived in India Street; the date of the first deed to him of land was in 1681; it was of a house lot from Thomas Mason; he probably came here about that time. After his capture in 1690, his wife and children moved to Beverly, where they subsequently moved. His wife's name was Mary. Their daughter, Mary, married George Tuck, and was residing in Falmouth in 1734, in a deed of that year styles herself as the only surviving child and heir of said Peter."
So their you have it! After several years trying to lick this problem, your efforts inspired me to find the answer in a completely different family. I should know better, but that is the way it is.
Thank you again for all your efforts.
Wayne
