Ruby Morrison, 90, passed from this life to be with our Lord on Sunday July 22, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Washington Co TN.
She was born January 11, 1922, to John Hamilton and Bessie Hall Hamilton. She was the youngest of the following brothers and sisters, Clifford Hamilton, Walla Walla, WA, Raymond Hamilton, Aiden, and Ola who had lived in Piney Flats, TN, all are now deceased. Ruby had lived on the same farm at 393 Hamilton Trail, Piney Flats, TN, until December 31, 2009, when she entered NHC Healthcare in Johnson City.
Ruby married James 'Jim' Morrison in the 1940’s. They were married for 60 plus years before Jim departed this life in April of 2003. Ruby graduated from Mary Hughes High School and was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by niece, Louse Oreturff; nephew, John Hamilton, of Walla Walla WA, niece, Phyllis Hamilton, of Piney Flats, TN; and by a neighbor, Randy Hendrix, whom she considered her family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 12:30 until 2 p.m., at the church prior to the funeral service.
The funeral service for Mrs. Morrison will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Piney Flats, with Rev. Harold McNabb and Rev. Rex Hill officiating.
Graveside service and interment will be conducted following the funeral at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Ken Turner, Jerry Cross, Steve King, Jonathan King, Robert King, and Randy Shipley.
