I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men is John R. Scott who m. Rebecca Mortor, dau. of John Mortor. He enlisted 14 Aug 1862 at Lodi, Columbia Co. WI & was discharged 3 Apr 1863 - disability. He enlisted (2) 29 Aug 1864 at Lodi Columbia co., WI into C Co. 42nd WI Infantry.. John Scott, son of John L. & Charlotte Scott was b. 14 Sep 1843. He m. 1866 to Rebecca Morter dau. of John Morter.John Mortor lived at West Point, Sauk Co., WI.
