Janet, Any possibility that there is another daughter of Edward and Sarah Mosby -- named Susannah?I am researching the family of Michael Thomas (Sr.) of Tuckahoe Creek, Henrico (b. ca. 1685; d. ca. 1747), who was the ancestor of the Thomases of Albemarle/Amherest/Nelson. Besides being neighbors, there are several clues which seem to point toward the Mosbys as her family.Susannah was born ca. 1685-1690 and married Michael Thomas ca. 1705-1709.Oldest child, son, Edward Thomas was b. ca. 1710; d. ca. 1760 (will, Albemarle, Tillotson Parish); m. Mary Harding, dau. of Thomas Harding and Mary Giles of Tuckahoe Creek.Michael Thomas, Sr. was son of Phillip Thomas, Jr., who came from the Thomases of Isle of Wight, into Henrico, and died in Westmoreland, leaving Michael with land in Henrico. One of the Thomas sons, Joseph, had land in Powhatan by the Mosbys as late as 1787.Because he had gone to Georgia in 1785, Littleberry Mosby was responsible for his tax.Several other clues also. Thanks.
