Lisa: Did not expect to hear from you this soon. The United Daughters of The Confederace and Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames of America aare a few we entitled to become member because of our ancesters!!I did not know until just a few weeks after checkin for abour 40yrs the book Gray Gost is wrong and discovered the addition of William Harrison Mosby. Virginia Jackson Mclaurin goes back to Williamsburg,Va. and her grandfather 1st pastor of a section of Burton Parrish Church, came here from Glaskow Scotland. The William Harrison Mosby, went to Bedford anfter the war and started a grocery business/both are buried in the cemetary mentioned. You will see the Alley and Mosby family started in American around 1600 in the Isle of Wrightnear James ATown and Surry Va. they moved on up into Virginia as time passed.my 2great grandfather Alley went off to war and took 6 sons with him.1st born Mosby Woodson Alley even rode with them and freed fromprison in the North took right back to riding with 1/2 but lost and demanded they replace his $475 dollar horse. My 3 great grandmother Columbia Waddy Dickinson ,father rode with John and his men also/ it appears to me they were just about all related and some fashion or the other. The info wanted is in the Va. State Library and can be gotten throught your library inter loan dept/Dave Garbeck is in charge of the section here! Every one is quite ancious to help and no charge/unless/out of counrty like England/thats why I asked were you were. You can also go look up his pension file for civil war and etc.Does this give you a starting point without over loading you? Please keep in mind there are quite a few sets of twins and the girl, usually has the strawberry birth mark, the alley side has no birth markes and usually they are one of each sex also for both family's/best you, hope helpful/Nancilee
