I have seen the name of Sarah Bell, daughter of James Bell and Olive Moseley, incorrectly mentioned as wife ofJoshua Cook of Elbert Co., Georgia, in various Cook pedigrees and also on the Moseley web site that formerly was managed by Nita Munoz.Nita’s email on that web site is no longer valid, and I can’t locate William Daniel who posted the information, so I’m using this forum to correct the error.
James and Olive Bell’s children were said to be born c. 1780s in GA, posted by their own researchers. Sarah Cook’s birth was c. 1772 in VA, from a Bible record and census, and death was 1864 in GA. These dates do not correlate with Sarah Bell Moon.
In James Bell’s will in Sep 1807 and proved c. Jan 1810, he mentions his daughter, Sarah Moon. Pleasant Moon’s will of Jan 1818 and proved c. Mar 1818, mentions wife Sarah and her brother, James Bell.
Sarah Moon’s children were born c. 1804-1810, according to researchers of the Moon/Moseley/Bell families. Sarah and Joshua Cook’s children were born c. 1791-1814.
The maiden name of Sarah, wife of Joshua Cook of Elbert Co., is unknown/unproven. Also unknown/unproven is the maiden name of her mother-in-law, wife of Francis Cook of Elbert Co.
