Warren,
I appreciate your response to my query on these Moseleys of Bute Co., NC. I know that GOLDEN is not your interest but there might be a connection to the William GOLDING family who were in Essex Co., VA.In a book on the GOLDINGs, the names of Moseley and Hawkins are mentioned.
My question: Is the John Goldin/Golden who was in Wilkes Co., GA in 1786 and bought 50 acres on Soap Creek from Thomas Moseley, the same one as in Bute Co., NC.

Wit: Richard Golden, John Williams, William Golden.William Golden saw Mosley deliver the deed to John Golden, Jr.Richard Golden and a John WILLIAMS proved deed. 12 June 1786, Henry Ware, J. P.Rec. This John with 50 ac. looks to be the same one in Lincoln Co.,GA on Soap Creek along with his son, William, granddaughter, Nancy Golding PARKS, and MY Mark Golden.
My goal is to prove that the John "Goldin" (or one of the two John Goldin's in Bute) is the same guy.I had read that the one in GA had married an Ann Moseley, d/o Thomas Moseley.I have no proof of that.In Bute Co., NC deeds, there were two ladies, Ann and Nancy.
