I have a copy of the 1840 census of Floyd County Ky.The William Mosely Sr. that is listed is 60-70 years old. He has a wife that is 50-60 years old. male children: 10-15and one 15-20 female child:15-20
There is another person listed: William Mosely Jr. age 20-30.One female 15-20
Thomas Mosely:Males 30-40, 0-5, 10-15. Females: 20-30, 0-5, 5-10.
Sally Mosely: No males, and she is 40-50
These Mosleys are not listed on the 1820 census.John Mosely is listed on the 1820 census and as a FPC.
I believe that this William Mosely Sr. is the William Black Hawk/Blackhawk Mosley that I and others have been looking for.It was about that time 1840, that the Sizemore had a son William Blackhawk Sizemore. The Sizemores claimed to be Cherokee. My family claims to be Chrokee.
If you're concerned about the spelling of Mosely, well these persons was listed in various ways, Mosely/Mosley/Moseley.
There is also a Daniel P. Mosley in Lawrence County Ky in 1830's that was married to a Corder. So was his brother and they were from Drewry Mosley.Daniel appears to be born about 1770-80.
