Felix Motsinger, Sr is found on Pennsylvania tax lists in 1763, but in 1765 moved to Rowan County, NC where he recorded purchase of 360 acres of land on both sides of the drains of "ABBOTTS CREEK" from Joshua and Dorothy Teague. The first wife of Felix is unknown to me, but he had 5 children from this marriage. He later married a widow, Elizabeth Long and had 1 son, Felix Motsinger Jr. You inquired about Felix Sr's son, John. John M Motsinger was born 1762 in Wallburg, Rowan County, NC and died 1811. He married his step-sister, Susannah Long on November 26, 1791 in Rowan County, NC. They had 7 children. I have dates and spouses if you need them. Back to the location of Felix's farm. The farm is located in Davidson County,(formed in 1822) NC. Off of Abbotts Creek Road, Wallburg. Back in the 1840s to 1860s, this was a busy place. There was a town, "Browntown" formed in 1840 fully equipped with a church, a mill, saloon and even a hat shop. Today only the church and the cemetery remains. The creek is still there of course and the land is wood covered mostly. The Motsingers were and are very interesting people. I have lots of stories passed down from my grandparents, and lots of memories too. I hope this helped you and good luck with your family tree !!!
