I had posted an entry on the Johns site in response to a query about Rebecca Johns, but thought that the information might strike a chord on this forum as well. Therefore, I am pasting in the entry.
Rebecca Johns and John Moyle produced Robert Johns Moyle b 1796 Constantine; he was my great-great-great grandpa. He was a farrier, who appears in the censuses as Robert Moyle. He appears as Robert Johns Moyle, farrier, on the marriage certificate of his son John Johns Moyle b 1830 Breage, Cornwall (copy available if required). John J's mother was Mary A(nn?) b 1795, Stythians. John Johns Moyle married Elizabeth Pennington b 1831 Tavistock, Devon, on 10th February 1849 at the Parish Church, Tavistock. One of their daughters, Mary Ann Moyle, b 1854, Tavistock, married my great-grandpa, William Henry Barnett, b 12th March 1852, in Tavistock in 1871. Their son Alfred Barnett b 1889, Tavistock, married Caroline Millington b 1890, Littletown, Durham, on 29th March 1913, at the Parish Church, Thornley, Durham. Presumably he had moved North to work in the mines. My mum was their second daughter. Mum told me there were some Moyles in Thornley when she lived there (Mum and Dad move down to Notts in 1940) but hadn't realised that they might be related until I started researching, because she had a stepmother from a very early age.
