MULLANEY - The funeral of John Mullaney, a well known resident of the Belvidere district for the past 40 years, took place this morning at 8 o'clock from the home, 117 Hoyt avenue, and was largely attended by sorrowing relatives and friends.The cortege preceeded by an automobile filled to capacity with beautiful floral tributes proceeded to teh Immaculate Conception church where at 9 o'clock a solemn high funeral mass was celebrated by Very Rev. Lawrence F. Tighe, O.M.I., assisted by Rev. Peter F. Larkin, O.M.I., as deacon and Rev. John J. Donnelley, O.M.I., as sub-deacon.As the procession entered the sacred edifice Mrs. Hugh Walker played "Ardante Dolorose" by Grieg.The choir under the direction of Mr. Charles P. Smith sang the Gregorian chant.At the offertory Mrs. Hugh Walker sang "Pater in Manus Tuas" by Dubois.After the elevation Mr. david Martin sang "Pie Jesu."The solos in the mass were sustained by Mr. David Martin.Mrs. Hugh Walker presided at the organ.Present at the mass were many friends of the deceased.Among those present were Mrs. Fredereic T. Greenhalge, Mr. and Mrs. Austin K. Chadwick, Nesmith family, Mr. Elias J. McQuade and Supt. of Schools Hugh J. Molloy.As the body was born fromt eh church Mr. Charles P. Smith sang the solo in the "De Profundis," assisted by the choir.There were many beautiful floral tributes and spiritual bouquets.The bearers were Messrs. John Conners, Christopher Sheridan, Joseph Ward, John Flanagan, Michael Donovan and John Coffey.Burial took place in St. Patrick's cemetery where Rev. Owen P. McQuaid, O.M.I., read the committal prayers.The funeral arrangements were in charge of Undertakers Mahoney Bros.
