I have hit a dead end with my G'GPA James MULLOY.He married Ellen SKINNER in 1869 in Perry County, Ohio.I have the marriage certificate. However, back then they did not list the parents of the bride and groom on such certificates. If I could even find the Church they were married in I could try to get the Marriage info from them. The Priest was Fr. J. S. Cellins. Here is my problem:The name "MULLOY" is spelled MALLOY on my Mother's birth certificate for her Mother's maiden name.On my Mother's Mother's marriage to my Grandpa Fred Hoopes, they spelled Grandma's maiden name: MELOY.AGHHHHH! ): I am sure many of you here have experienced the same frustration.Didn't anybody care how their last name was spelled back then????! The only child I know of that James and Ellen Mulloy had is my Grandma Anna Catherine, also sometimes called Cora...more confusion. She is Anna C on her death notice and on her gravestone. So why did Grandpa call her Cora??? Well, they had a daughter named Mary Margaret they called "BOB" and a son Charles they called "CHUB". So, why should I be surprised at that?!
Any info that any one could give would be so very much appreciated.I am 61 years old and don't have another 20 years left to sort this all out...I am getting carpel tunnel from doing all this geneaology research.Ha Ha.
