The village of Mumby is in east Lincolnshire, about three miles from the cost. The village got its name from a Viking named Mund who established his settlement there in the late 900's. My grandfather was born in Lincolnshire but moved to Nottinghamshire in 1890. He owned the Old Ship Inn in Worksop. As well, another Mumby family, (not connected) had a large clothing manufacturing company in Newark. Any connection?
