Hi Bev, I just returned from Monmouth, Warren, Ill. yesterday after doing some family history research at the courthouse and what I found may be of some interest to you. I was looking for the marriage license of Zachariah T. Mundorff and Elcenia J. Johnson married Aug. 26, 1869, licence #5087. I discovered that all marriage licences for Warren Co. between May 28, 1868 and Jan. 1878 have been lost or misplaced from the courthouse. So my wife and I started looking in other sources that were there, finding a death notice for Peter Mundorff stating he died in Warren Co. on July 27, 1891. Lookingup the tombstone inscriptions for Center Grove cemetery (according to the clerk is located just north of Kirkwood, Warren, Ill.)we found he was buried there along with his wife, Henrietta Habliston Mundorff. His birthdate on the stone is March 7, 1816 and date of death is July 27, 1891, age 75 yr. 4 mo. 20 da. Her birthdate on the stone is Sept. 25, 1817 and date of death is Aug. 2, 1887, age 69 yr. 10 mo. 7 da. There is also a C. H. Mundorff buried in this cemetery, in the same section, with an inscription of 1856 - 1927 on the stone but I don't know if this person is related to them or not. On Henrietta's death certificate it showed a birth place of Pa. I didn't see Peter's since I didn't know if we are related and didn't have a lot of spare time. My wife also discovered a deed for assignment of patent to Zachariah T. Mundorff with the filer being G. L. Mundorff, but could find no birth or death records for these Mundorffs. If you would have any info regarding the relationship of Peter to G.L. or Zachariah, if any, I would appreciate it. Zachariah and Elcenia had a daughter, Cora Martha b. 1872, that married my great grandfather, Harvey Sylvester Souder on Mar. 26, 1890 in Blair, Washington, Nebraska.
