From " Wills, Aministrations, Guardianships and Adoptions of Highland County, Ohio (1805-1880)" by McBride, page 252:
June 21, 1867. Harvey Murdock appointed Guardian of Daniel, aged 17 years, and Harvey Murdock, Jr., aged 13 years. Daniel and Harvey Murdock, Jr. are children of Harvey Murdock.
Same book, page 122, will of Harvey Murdock of Paint Twp.:
Dated Feb. 10, 1878. Heirs are "my beloved wife"; children: Aaron F., Eva, Addison, Andrew, Malinda Baldwin, Daniel H., and Susanna Oats. There is a codicil dated Apr. 23, 1878 (content not given here). On Feb 13, 1879, Esther, the widow, elected to take (her dower) under the law.
These raise 2 questions. Why did Harvey need to be named Guardian of his own children and did Harvey Jr. die before 1878?
"Marriage Records of Highland Co., Ohio (1805-1880)" by McBride, page 163, under MURDOCK:
Harvey married Catherine Weyer Dec. 7, 1839 Harvey married Juliette W. Huff, Feb. 16, 1854 Harvey married Esther Dwyer, license issued (not returned) Jan. 16, 1856
Perhaps Daniel was from first marriage and Harvey, Jr. the second?
