While surfing today, I came across what I think may be a variation of the Murdock spelling.
From http://www.rootsweb.com/~infrankl/1820index.htmlhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~infrankl/1820index.html
1820 Franklin County, Indiana Census Index
NameTownship Page
Medaugh, Cornelius BATH 199
There are also some Murdocks listed:
Murdock, G. L. BROOKVILLE 188
Murdock, James LIBERTY 215
Cornelius and James were not in the 1817 census for Franklin County.
I found a Charles C. Murdock buried at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH
http://www.springgrove.org/sg/genealogy/sg_genealogy_home.shtmhttp://www.springgrove.org/sg/genealogy/sg_genealogy_home.shtm
His parents were George L. and Anna Murdock. He was born in Brookville, Indiana about 1815 and died December 25, 1895 in Jacksonville, Florida.I have to believe his father George L. is the same G.L. Murdock listed in the 1820 Franklin County, IN census.
There is also a Lizzie H. Murdock, same parents, who died September6, 1852.She died of cholera and it did not give any other information.
It is a long shot, but maybe....
