There was a Samuel Hammons that married a Mary Ann Murdock in Butts Co., GA on May 14th, 1848.
There was a William S. and Syntha Murdock in Butts Co., GA in 1850 (see 1850 Butts Co., GA census, family # 151). This Murdock family moved on to Macon Co., AL, in the Creek Stand community.
At the Macon Co., AL Court House, in Tuskegee, AL, Probate Minutes Bk 5, 1854-1856, on page 671, there is a reference to a Samuel Hammonds and his wife Mary A. Hammonds, an heir to Milas/Miles S. Murdock, deceased. This was in reference to the settlement of the estate of Milas/Miles Murdock, deceased. Milas/Miles W. Murdock was the admr. of the estate. It states the Hammonds were now residents of Ala. Minors William J. and Samuel J. Murdock were named also.
This sounds like it could be your Samuel and Mary Hammons/Hammonds
