That was a lot of information! Although we do have some minor differences. But this is normal. I wonder is census takers had a local pub they went to get smashed, it apears so from the way they write and the incorrect information they take down. I have several census records for reference but I know they are not in stone. I do have 3 Murdock death certificates, Jessie Army, Alcine, and Mollie (Sanders wife). She has listed as her parents Jerry Dotson and Celia Stewart which is a bit conflicting. The informant was J.A. Murdock(Jessie Army). The strange thing is that Sanders mothers name was Celia so I wonder if he got them mixed up when giving the information. Very likely I think. Which means I have to go dig up several census records to identify who her parents were. Some say she was 1/2 Cherokee and her mother was full blood Cherokee. But the strange thing here is that there are 2 Mollie Dotson's in TX at the same time with very close birth years. One of them was definately a registered Cherokee Indian but which one was our blood relation, that is my new question. I am trying to pinpoint the correct information with records right now. I am also trying to pinpoint Joseph Murdock's(Sanders father)fathers in some sort of records. Do you know where I might find them since you mentioned a name? You also mentioned he was a red coat, this I didn't know! Please elaborate on this if you can. SO there might be another native american intermarriage with Josephs father...very interesting too. You are just a wealth of information! When you get your email running again be sure to email me at (firstname.lastname@example.org) so I can mail you a picture of Sanders Murdock. Or when you get it running mail me your address and I will send the extra copy I have. I don't want you to post your address on the net. I can also send you copies of the death certificates I have of the 3 murdocks in case you want them. I couldn't find Sanders death certificate yet and I tried every variation of spelling on the death index. My next step is just to send off for it by mail with what I know. I think we have lots of information to share. Combinning the stories into one picture would be wonderful. I have a funny story about Jessie, Sanders and Mollie too via my great aunt the daughter of Jessie Murdock. All of Jessie's children are still living with the exception of one that was hit by a truck at the age of 13. So do mail me when you are up and running so I can get these pictures to you. I just looked and found a picture of Mollie Murdock as well, just now dawned on me who she was in the picture!
