MRS. ELIZA MCCLARAN, wife of JOHN MCCLARAN and an old and much loved resident of this county, died at the home of her daughter, MRS. M. W. ROGERS, in Pleasanton, last Friday, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church in this city, Sunday afternoon, being conducted by the Rev. Geo. B. Draper, an old friend of the family. The attendance at the funeral was large and the floral offering was lovely. Her six sons-in-law were pall bearers. The Crawford Brothers, of Saline, assisted in the singing. Ladies of the Eastern Star Lodge, of which she was an old and honored member, attended in a body and conducted their beautiful ritualistic ceremony at the church. Interment was in the Princeton Cemetery.
ELIZA HENDERSON was born Oct. (?), l852, in Knox County, Illinois. She came with her parents to Missouri when a small girl and located near Pleasanton. May 24, l874, she was married to JOHN F. MCCLARAN at Pleasanton and to this union 8 children were born. They are MRS. ETTA POWELL; MRS. GLADYS JUDSON and MRS. MARTHA COLLINGS, of this city; MRS. PEARL ROGERS, of Pleasanton; H.D. MCCLARAN, Davis City, Iowa; MRS. BESSIE MURDOCK, Manhattan, Kansas; MRS. BEULAH SHROYER, Mercer; and FRANK MCCLARAN, of Kansas City. MRS. MCCLARAN was a charter member of Moella Chapter, 225, Eastern Star Lodge, and was an old member of the Methodist Church. MR. and MRS. MCCLARAN celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary here, May 24, l924.
