I am looking for more information on Nimrod Murphree(3) son of John(2) son of Daniel(1). I have him listed as married to Rhoda?(possibly Searcy). children: 1.Daniel Levi b.1815- d.11 Feb 1900 m.Sally Duckworth Nesmith 2.Frances b. 1818 3.Sarah "Sallie" b.26 May 1813 d. 25 Nov 1878 m. Isaac M. West 4.UNK son
In 1831, in Carroll Co. TN. Rhoda petitioned for divorce from Nimrod. listed on the "LEGISLATIVE PAPERS AND PETITIONS" pg 143 box 57. Their children were born in TN, then Daniel is found in Blount Co. AL. The last record I can find on Nimrod is 1840 Federal and Arkansas Census'. In 1837 he had 2 pattons for inventions. In "The GETTYSBURG STAR & REPUBLICAN BANNER"Nashville,TN.,on Aug 27, 1834, is published that "Know Ye, that I Nimrod Murphree, of the city of Nashville, and the state of Tennessee, have discovered perpetual motion."
I can't seem to find anymore information on him past that and what happened to Rhoda (Murphree) after they divorced? Did she move to Alabama from Tn? with who? there are several Rhoda Murphrees listed in Blount Co. around that time. Of their children, I belong to the line of Daniel Levi and Sarah Nesmith, parents to John E.Murphree 1849-1918 who married Georgia Ann Elrod in Blount Co. AL. John and Georgia's son James Ellis Murphree who married Margaret "Maggie" McAlpin. son William Tyre Murphree(who was my great grandfather.),son Harold Newman Murphree (my grandfather), and Harold Dexter Murphree (my father).
I have some more information on the families up until Nimrod and Rhoda. Would like to find out what happened after the split, as I know we did somehow end up in Blount/Cullman Co. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.
