Well everyone, I did find William H. Murphy's dad and grandpa. They are Timothoy Murphy 1720/25 in/of York PA.married Bet. 1740-1750 York PA. Johanna (?) bet 1722.They then movied to Orange/Chatham NC. bef. 1765. They had 7 children--6 girls and one boy Archibald Murphy b. 1765 Chatham NC, he married a Sarah (?) on abt 1788. They moved from N.C. to Wilkes Co. Ind. With some of their children. One, my William H. Murphy, who married his wife Louis Walker on Nov. 9, 1818 in Washington, Ind. The rest I have with the book handed down that started with William H. Murphy. Now, Who was Timothy's parents? My goodness I can't get enough--it's like eating Lay Potato Chips. My wonder is when did this family of Timothy's come over. I have people coming before Jamestown; they were mostly English. The Irish's first wave came in 1717, so he had to have a father about to be born in York at that time. I know a Sir William Johnson was around at that time line.I am scratching my head for answers and still turning over rocks. If anyone knows who is his Father please get in touch with me; if you have any info on Timothy's line of work.I know he sold his granted land of 50 acres to John McCadam of Newberry in 1752.
