I purchased the subject photo of a middle-aged man wearing a white apron and standing in what appears to be a commercial kitchen.I deduced identify of the subject based on clues contained in or on the photo.The photo is identified on the back:

Painted on a window are some letters of a business sign reading [bracketed letters are guesses]:
"MUR[PHY'S] GOOD [FOOD]"
There is a wall calendar hanging behind the man opened to September 1928.

Murphy (1906-1907), Helen Faye Murphy (1907-1964), Zelma Frances Murphy (1909-), and Alice B. Murphy (1917-).
George was employed as an insurance agent in 1910, as a cigar and soft drinks keeper in 1920, and as a restaurant cook in 1930.
