MRS. TIMOTHY (MARGARET MURPHY) O'CONNOR FEBRUARY 10, 1905
Mrs. Margaret O'Connor, relict of Timothy o'Connor, died at the family home on Hickory street at 6:00 a.m., February 4. Margaret Murphy was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, March 17, 1842, and when six years of age, moved with her parents to Seneca, LaSalle county, Illinois, where she grew to young womanhood. April 20, 1860, she was united in marriage to her late husband, Timothy O'Connor, at the Catholic church in Morris, Illinois. Nine years later in the fall of 1869, this worthy couple moved onto their farm in Charlotte township, which continued to be their home until March, 1892, when they retired from a well spent farm life, and came to this city, living a peaceful, quiet life until death severed the happy union, Mr. O'Connor passing away September 19, 1900. She leaves to mourn her loss, an aged mother at Morris, Illinois, two sisters, two brothers and five children, who were all present at their mother's passing away; and five grandchildren. Margaret O'Connor was a estimable friend and affectionate mother, who lived on after the death of her life's partner, for her children's sake. The funeral which was a very largely attended, was held from the Catholic church on Monday morning, the Rev. J.J. Quinn offficiating and the remains deposited by the side of those of her late huband in the Catholic cemetery.
