Mary Ann Thompson Musselwhite, 71, of Abingdon, VA, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness.
She was born in Bristol, VA, on August 27, 1940, a daughter of the late Charles Andrew Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Fulks Thompson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Effie Carter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, H. W. and Helen Leona Musselwhite; son-in-law, Daniel Roark; grandson-in-law, Rick Love; and niece, Joy Collins, and nephew, Joel Gobble.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jack Musselwhite; two daughters, Kathy Keith, and Deloris Whitaker and her husband, John Henry; two sons, Howard Wesley Musselwhite and Jack Wayne Musselwhite Jr.; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren; sisters- in-law, Betty Jo Trinkle, and Patsy Gobble and her husband, Billy; and special nephew, Burchell Carter Jr., and several other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Thomas Townsend, Vicki Patrick, the staff of Bristol Home Health and the staff of Wellmont Hospice for all the love and care shown to Mary Ann during her illness.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, with Bro. Gary Rowlette and Bro. Stacy Collins officiating.
The committal service and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hunter Thayer, Shane Thayer, Bo Musselwhite, Joe Musselwhite, Burchell Carter, and Austin Collins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family to help with final expenses.
