Hi Don I was interested in your post about Jeremiah Nagle. My ancestors are also from Cork and we have tried for many years to get information out of Ireland but it has been difficult. What struck me was the similarities in history. My grandfather and his father were also in the navy, and my grandfather married and had two boys and moved to Auckland NZ in the early 1900s.I wonder if Jeremiah was related and told my great grandfather about NZ.I will give you the little we do know. Our grandfather, Gerald Nagle, born 12th Jan 1886-? Artificer royal navy – His mother Margaret Hyde, father, John Nagle, commander Royal Navy Brother - John, never married - died before 1921 - Engineer in Navy Sister - Josephine married Fred Whatnall - Naval Officer, in Plymouth or Portsmouth no kids, died about - 34 Sister - Agnes, spinster, died in her 70’s.
If any of this fits any part of your jigsaw I would love to know.We can't seem to get back further than than my great grandfather John Nagle. If John and Jeremiah are related it would be a big help. Regards Kevin Nagle
