Frances Malone Morgan, William Lessenby and Williamson Nance
This several Nance's were first seen in 1840 census in Russell Co., Alabama but with diligent research has shown that Frances md. a Reuben Rainey Morgan 1831 in Monroe Co., Georgia; William Lessenby Nance md. Emily Williams 2 October 1835 in Bibb Co., Ga. and Williamson Nance md. what is probably Nancy Ferguson, d/o Norman Ferguson, also of Monroe Co., Ga.In 1838 William L. Nance rec'd a grant of land (BLOM) for 40 acres of land in Alabama.
In 1850 his wife, Emily have children-Abner (Isham Abner?) 14; William Bascom is 12; Thomas is 10; Ann (Fluellen?) is 8 and Williamson Lessenby is 6.Also in next hh Russell Co., Alabama we find the apparent widow, Nancy-and the chn.
Williamson and Nancy (Williamson has apparently died about the same time as William L.) have Sarah, 14; Isham 12; James F. 10 ; Henry 8 and Britton 6. Both Emily and Nancy and children (at least some of them) are inColumbia and Lafayette Co., Arkansas in 1870 censuses with children names forms of those listed above.
Frances Malone Nance Morgan has children by Reuben and 1850 they are in Macon Co., Alabama but from 1860 on they and their children are in Pike Co., Alabama. Her children are: Emily G.; Mary Asbury/Asberry Elizabeth S.; Henry Hilliard; Martha A.; John William (stayed in Pike with desc. there today from what research I have done) Frances Victoria and Cornelia J,. or Caroline J.Both Frances Malone Nance Rainey and Reuben die in Pike co Alabama in the 1880's. Some of their children (intermarried with LeCroy, Gilmore, Carr, Gay families) stay in Pike Co., some go to Texas. are: Sam Nance and Molly Malone.Is Sam Isom/Isham Nance since this is a name of one of Nancy's sons, and Lessenby a name in the Reuben Nance (Henry Co., Va.) line.
