Samuel and Ebenezer must have been very close in age, per the following, from the June 19, 1800 edition of the Albany Gazette:
ONE CENT REWARD
RAN away from the Subscriber, on the 11th instant, an Apprentice Boy named SAMUEL NOREMORE, about nineteen years of age:Whoever will return him to his master, shall have the above reward, but no charges nor thanks. All persons are forbid trading with him or harboring him.
Archibald Stephens
Coeymans, 16th June 1800
Archibald Stephens was a prominent early settler and miller in the hamlet of Alcove, then Stephensville, in the town of Coeymans.
It seems likely that Samuel ran away to his older brother Asa in Vermont, where he later met his end at the hands of his in-laws.
