I came upon your message by accident while trying to track down a family history title that I know exists but can't remember the name of! The Neale family (including my father, Philip Neale) lived in Wootton Rivers until the 1930s when they moved to Dorset. It's fairly easy to track this line of the family back through the gravestones at St. Andrew's Church in the village to a Philip Neale who died in 1821 aged 66 (and there are earlier ones as well). Prior to that they lived in Burbage, Wilts, where I believe they settled having emigrated from Ireland. In fact there's quite a useful website that shows photos of all the (readable) Neale tombstones in the churchyard. I believe my great grandfather (also a Philip Neale) married a Bowyer, a family of meat traders from Streatham in London, but I'm not entirely sure if I'm directly related to the Philip Neale you mention who married Sarah Ann Taylor. My father mightknow more if there's anything specific you're looking for.
