Hi Brent -
Well, here's what happened. I never did get to go to Gauersheim because I came down with severe "morning, noon and night" sickness for about the next 6.5 months just before our planned trip, and then I was hospitalized for another month and a half trying to bring two little identical twin boys safely into the world. I just gave birth to them a little over a week ago (at 34 weeks) and we're all sort of stuck here in the Landstuhl Hospital NICU until they're ready to go home. They're doing well, but they were premature enough that they're just not ready for the big, wide world yet. Sorry about that... a little off topic (or not... they are two new little Nebeker decendants, so they have a stake in knowing about this too, don't they? ;-)
In any case, thanks for the info about your trip to Gauersheim... we still plan on going there to see what we can see, and we also plan on going down to Switzerland to do more research when things calm down a little bit. I was fascinated to discover (before the pregnancy excitement) the different theories on the origins of our Nebeker line and I really hope we can stay here long enough to dig around and discover some leads on what really happened. If/when that happens, I will definitely post my findings here for everyone to enjoy!
Greetings to all my cousins out there!
