Excerpts from "Builders of the U.S.A. Vol.1, Neeley, Strockbine, Thompson, Cullison, Lowmaster, Cox, Newbold, Skaggs, Miller, McGowan, Sherrick, Bates, and Johnson"by Ken Neeley. 1990.
Robert Neeley b. 1 March 1794 in Armagh Twp., Mifflin Co., PA.Parents: David & Eleanor (Bates) Neeley. In a letter dated 28 Jan 1819, Eleanor wrote a letter to son, John, saying that in the middle of June last, Robert married a young woman of the name of Wincket.
Our record indicates that Hannah was born 16, Dec 1799, so she could well have been the one girl listed in age 10-16 bracket in the 1810 census under Samuel Wicket in Armagh Twp.
Robert & family moved to Seneca Co., OH in 1833. Word is that in 1841 Hannah died of the cholera and is buried at Ft. Seneca on the Sandusky River. It is said that several children died at the same time, but they were not identified. Hannah Neeley Fall (daug of Robert & Hannah) is said to have made the following statement: "..after Hannah and several of their children died in the cholera plague of 1841, Robert began drinking and lost everything. He died 31 March 1854."
