Ruth I. Artis married to William G. Lipinski, was the daughter of Thacher Artis and Lydia Stom.
Lydia Stom was a sister of Clara A. Stom who married Wilbert "Bert" Neiderhiser. Ruth was raised by the Niederhisers. Their daughter Clara Jane Neiderhiser married Maurice M. "Pete" Palmer. In her obituary, Ruth is listed as a sister.

Ruth I. Lipinski, 87, of Ligonier, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, in the Bethlen Home, Ligonier Township. She was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Cook Township, a daughter of the late Thatcher and Lydia Stom Artis, and had been raised from the age of 2 by Wilbert and Clara Stom Neiderhiser. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and the Sunshine Bible Class. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she will be remembered for her faith in God, her love, kindness and generosity to others. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Lipinski; a son, Ronald M. Close; twin children, Erma Maxine and Paul Richard; a sister, Jane Palmer; and a half sister, Hazel Baird. She is survived by her loving daughter, Carolyn "Susie" Rodgers and her husband, Bob, who was like a son to Ruth, of Ligonier; a son, Wilbert "Wib" Close and his wife, Carol, of Lemoyne; a daughter-in-law, Ida Mae Close, of Ligonier; a stepson, Joe Lipinski and his wife, Edie, of Derry; nine grandchildren, Tammy, Robin, Marissa, Amy, Joe, Carey, Kim, Doug and Robert; 10 great-grandchildren; a half sister, Peg Huffman, of Latrobe; a loving and faithful friend, Aggie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Audrey J. Bell and the Rev. Herb Phar co-officiating. Interment in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
