I'm always looking for information on my great-grandparents, mostly because I can only trace back my family to them, after that, it gets a bit muzzy. Robert Kerr Neill from Muirkirk, Ayreshire Scotland, immigrated to the U.S. sometime around the turn of the century, definitely before 1905. He lived in Hempstead, NY for a while, but ended up in Providence, RI. I assume that's where he met my great-grandmother, Agnes MacGregor Baillie. They had two living children, Robert and Margaret, and divorced around 1918. He died in the early 1920s from cirrhosis of the liver. My great-grandmother died in Brownsville, TX in the 1950s.
Long story short, any info you might have on the Neills of Muirkirk, Ayreshire and Providence, RI. would be greatly appreciated. My great-grandfather might have also worked as a coal miner in Scotland-Paisley, maybe?
