I am researching a NILSSON/NEILSON family who lived in the Gothenberg, Sweden area at the end of the 19th century. On the 1893 emigration data sheet for a Alexander Wictor NEILSON (b. 27 Nov 1869, d. 10 Sep 1931 in Springrield, MA), his place of origin was given as GamlestadVästra Götaland Län, Sverige. I am not familiar with the Swedish language, so I would be most grateful for any assistance in locating this place. Alexander was one of at least four children. Another brother John Adolph NEILSON (b. ca Jun 1865, d. in Hartford CT.) immigrated to the US a few years before Alexander. It is unknown if the remaining children immigrated. Adolph and Charles were their given names. The only information I have about the parents of this family was that the given name of the mother was Matilda. I would be most interested in sharing data with anyone who would have any information regarding the Swedish origins of this family. Many thanks.
