Generation 1 -- John Nicolas Neisler: He was born in Wannweil, Wurtenburg, Germany, and came to this country with his father and 2 siblings when he was 14.He anglicized his name from Johnanes Nicolas Neuscheler, but for the next several generations the spelling of the last name appears in various forms, such as Niceler and Nisler, until it standarized as Neisler. He moved to what is now Cabarrus County, North Carolina, by th 1770's.He died 20 Feb 1815 in Concord, NC, and is buried in the Cold Water Lutheran Church cemetery near Concord. His first wife was Mary Frances Walter who was the daughter of Nicholas Walter. She was born 18 Feb 1847 in Germany. She was married 11 Nov 1767 and had 6 children. She died 07 Jan 1775.
Generation 2 -- John Lincoln Neisler:Some posted family trees list his name as John Nicholas Neisler III.He was born 20 Oct 1768 in NC and died in 1820.He married Catherine Coleman 19 May 1794 and they had 5 children. She was born in 1779 and died in 1850.
Generation 3 -- Joseph W Neisler: He was born 20 Jan 1807 in NC and died Oct 1883 in Tennessee (probably in Henderson County). He married Matilda Nicelar who was apparently one of his cousins. She was born in 1810 in NC.She was married 29 Sep 1828 in Cabarrus County, NC, and had at least 9 children. She died between 1880 and 1884 in Tennessee (probably in Henderson County).
Generation 4 -- Jane Neisler: She was born about 1830 in North Carolina.
Generation 5 -- Henderson Tennessee Neisler: She was born in Henderson County, Tennessee. She probably born in 1857 since her age was listed as 13 in the 1880 census and this date corresponds to the age in the 1910 census. However, the 1900 census lists her date of birth as Jan 1860.The name of Tennie's father is unknown. This is the only place in her genealogy in which American Indian blood could possibly have occurred, but this seems unlikely since the Indians were probably dispersed from Tennessee by this time.
