My ancestor Henry Nelsen emigrated to Australia in 1866 aboard the 'Cornwallis' ex Hamburg. He described himself as Prussian, except for once when his origin was given as Denmark. Named his home in Australia 'Altona' which is a port city adjoining Hamburg and was for a while DANISH. Also named his farm Bloomdale, which also seems to show up in the Schleswig Holstein region between Hamburg and present day Denmark. He had a niece, whom I presume lived in Germany/Denmark with the surname FLINDT.Does this ring any bells? Family is quite extensive in Australia now with many descendants.
