There has been and still are a large number of Nethercotts (with two T's) living in the village of Roadwater, near Watchet in Somerset, which is about twenty miles from the village of Nethercott. I can trace my line back to my gretgrandfather Harry Nethercott who was born in Old Cleeve (which may be the registry office for Roadwater) in 1875. I beleive his father was Daniel Nethercott judging from the 1901 Census Data.
Harry describes himself as a threshing machine proprietor, but in fact he was a very talented engineer and smith, and was a general agricultural contractor for the region. Afetr the first war, he built a steam driven road roller which he used to build driveways, small roads and tennis courts.
Harry had five sons, two of which Wallace and Harry( called Henry by everyone, continued the business into the sixties when they retired. Hanry's son, also Harry/ Henry still continues the business today.
I don't know if this is the branch you are related to, but a useful site is the UK 1901 census. Just search on Nethercott and Roadwater and you will get about 15 Nethercotts.
