I am new to the forum & to cyber genealogy. Have letters from J.Claude Netherton with his genealogy & actually met him some years back. His line goes back to Henry Netherton of Tenn(1804-c1833),Mo(c1833-c1866),& Ark,d.1867. (So far, only circumstantial evidence Henry was son of Moses #I, if memory is working, but good evidence.) Will be working soon on compiling Henry's family for upcoming Netherton book which will aim at including all American Nethertons up to about 1950(?). Quite an undertaking of thirty years of research & compilation by thirty or so researchers. My husband's g/father, Thomas Turner N., was bro to Boone K. & lived near each other in Benton Co. Ark. Henry had 17 children by two wives, Hannah Wall & Rachel King, grandniece of Daniel Boone. Henry & Rachel moved their family from NW Missouri,Daviess Co., & Yankee leaning brothers, staying near Bolivar MO.awhile, then to NW Ark around end of Civil War. His brother John also left Daviess for same reason, moving to Saline Co MO. Even today, this split in the family, caused by the Uncivil War, is brought up in correspondence with descendants. The family never mended & my father-in-law would choke up when telling about the conflict. Wow, I've gotten wound up. Am not sure how much am supposed to write on this forum. Am I supposed to contact you personally if more than a paragraph or so? Now, to figure out how to send this. Am techniclogically challenged, I fear.
