Nathaniel William Broughton-Nancy Ann Nettles
These are my great great grandparents (Nancy Ann Nettles b 1812 AL d 1858 AL).My great grandmother was Margaret Louisa Broughton (their daughter) who married William A. Lundy in Monroe County, AL October 1852.What I can piece together from Census records is that William and Margaret lived and raised their family in Mobile, ALfrom 1860 to 1880.Margaret moved to Ocean Springs, MS and is listed as a member in her son Frank Jefferson Lundy's household as of the 1900 Census. After that I lose track of her.Reportedly she returned to Mobile, AL.
At present, I am looking for details about my great grandparents William A. Lundy and Margaret Louisa Broughton.I would like to find out where (town, county, state) William A. Lundy was born and where Margaret Louisa Broughton lived and died after leaving her son's home after 1900.
1. Has someone or is someone researching Broughton-Nettles family history now who I could contact or find what has been written?
2. Does anyone have info about how Margaret and William met?
3. Does someone have a diary or perhaps family papers that talk about them?
4. Given that the family lived in Monroe County, AL in say the 1830 to 1850 time period, what newspapers covered Monroe County and have they been archived somewhere?
5. Is there any info which (if) church they were active with and where that church's records may be now?
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
