Hi Diane! In researching my family's ancestors, I came across your Julius a while back and made a note concerning him, as I believe he is likely my ggg grandmother's older brother. My ggg grandmother, Augusta Wilhelmine (Winnie)Neubauer, b: 1851, and her husband (Charles Frederick Dorow) immigrated from Prussia to the US in 1890 and lived with their family on their farm in Dexter. I understand Julius' parents were August Neubauer and Wilhelmine Kohls. It would seem likely (given the names, dates, and proximity)that they would be Augusta's parents, as well.Do you have any insights that might confirm or dispell? Any information you can provide would be so very much appreciated. I will also be more than happy to share whatever data I have that you might be interested in.(I have a picture of the woman I believe to be Julius' mother - assuming Julius and Augusta are siblings)which I can send to you.
p.s. One more quick note:Do you happen to know the relation between Julius and the family of Wilhelm and Wilhelmine Kohls who is reported in the same vicinity in 1880 census.(They would have been about the age of Julius' parents).Interestingly enough, I found several voyages this couple took back and forth from the US to Germany (in 1854, 1881 etc.). In 1884, they had with them a boy named Julius (presumably their son).He was age 5 at the time(several years younger than your Julius, yes?). Perhaps this Wilhelm Kohls is Julius' (and/or Augusta's?) maternal uncle (i.e., brother to Wilhelmine Kohls Neubauer). Do you happen to know?
