DEATH TAKES PIONEER WHEELER FARMER, Harvey Neville 7TH
Harvey Neville, who for many years was engaged in farming northeast of Kiron passed away Friday afternoon, February 7th at his home in Lake View, where he has resided for the past ten years. Death followed a stroke which occurred on Jan. 29th, having been unconscious since the Wednesday before his death.
Mr. Neville was born at Dewitt, Iowa, on August 14, 1868 and passed away at the age of 67 years. He moved with his parents to Sac county, Iowa, when eight years of age, settling in the vicinity of what is now Odebolt.
On July 12, 1888, he was married at Odebolt to Miss Grace Simon, and 12 children were born to this happy union. All of these survive with the exception of one daughter, Mrs. Mary Campbell, who died Jan. 1, 1929.
Mrs. Neville preceded him in death 26 years ago, and 1917 married at Ida Grove, Cora Bow.
Mr. Neville is survived by his wife and the 11 children; Mrs. Lucy Kruse of Denison, Mrs. Nora Offee of Wall Lake, Mrs. Dorothy Treft of Dunlap, John, of Odebolt, Edward of Turin, Thomas of Onomia, Minn., James of Odebolt, Romie, Floyd and Paul of Wheeler township, and Reuben of Lake View.
Mr. Neville has farmed south of Kiron for many years and has always been known as a hard-working man, conscientious in the discharge of his duties. In his quiet, unassuming way, he made friends with most every one with whom he came in contact. His passing leaves a vacancy in the home circle which will sadly be felt by those who remain to mourn him.
Funeral services, after having been postponed for several days, were held Sunday afternoon from Lake View,. Interment was made in the Odebolt cemetery.
