Margaret A. Nycum Indiana Formerly of Templeton RD2
Margaret A. Nycum, 92, of Indiana, formerly of Templeton RD2 (Madison Township), died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005 at St. Andrew?s Court, Indiana. She was born March 11, 1913 in Friends Cove, Bedford County, to George W. and Ella Mae (McDaniel) Nevitt. Mrs. Nycum was employed by Altoona Hospital and several doctor?s offices as a registered nurse, private duty and orthopedic nurse. She was a member of Tidal Presbyterian Church and formerly served as the church organist, pianist and Sunday school teacher. She attended Calvary Presbyterian Church in Indiana. She was a member of the Volunteer Society at St. Andrews Village and the St. Andrews Auxiliary. She was a 1933 graduate of Bedford High School and a 1939 graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed fishing, craftwork, sewing and amateur painting. Survivors include two sons, Larry Nycum and wife Debbie of Williamsburg, Va., and Steven L. Nycum and wife louise of Harrogate, Tenn.; one daughter, Judith Ann Dilley and husband Jerry L. of Plattsburg, N.Y.; one grandson, Joshua Dilley and partner Kellie; one granddaughter, Jessica Dilley; and one great-grandson, Riley Dilley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold J. Nycum who died May 22, 2002; four brothers, Roy, Ralph, Warren and George W. Nevitt Jr.; and five sisters, Daisey Koontz, Mary Barr, Ora Diehl, Grace Kilcoin and her identical twin, Mildred Berkheimer. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Donald Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Fishertown Cemetery, St. Clair Township, Bedford County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tidal Presbyterian Church.
