Hi Shirley, You asked about Arville. I wrote a book about this family "Newberry Emigrants to America, 2005". Printed 125 copies and sold the last one in 2007. They were $64 each. A copy of the book is in Library of Congress, Washington D.C. There are 9 Harmons in the Name Index but no Shirley. The section on Arville starts like this (page 224 of 589 pages):
Continuing with the Family of Arville NEWBERRY and Sarah “Sallie” RIGGS, referenced on page 152 under his parents, James NEWBERRY [6] and Elizabeth PATTERSON ["27-3" which follows means Generation 27 - third child of his sibling group. The "[6]" after James: I have so many James NBYs that I have to give them numbers - same with John, etc]:
27-3 Arville NEWBERRY, b: 1802 Tennessee; moved to Lawrence County, Alabama, owned a small parcel of land near the town square of Moulton, the County Seat of Lawrence County per an 1854(?) deed of sale; moved 1850 to Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas, d: 1873 at or near Honey Grove, was a farmer in 1860 with real estate worth $700 and personal property worth $600, m: 24 Dec 1823 Lawrence County, Alabama to Sarah “Sallie” RIGGS, b: 1804 Tennessee.
I go on to report on the 10 of their 11 children for whom I have names.
How do you connect and where do you live? I park my trailer in Chico, California during Oct thru May.
