I'm looking for any information to prove my suspicions.
Mary Anna Phillips Married William Snyder in August of 1851. Mary is the "daughter of George and Elizabeth Phillips, well-known pioneers of Monroe County".
I am certain that the Phillips family in question is the family that lived next door to George Snyder of Stroudsburg (George Snyder is William's father.)I have found Census information for 1840-1860.But I haven't been able to place Mary with this family directly. However, in 1850 (at age 22), Mary is not listed with her father's family, but with who I believe are her grandparents, George and Anna Neyhart. These Neyharts also live very near the Phillips and Snyders.
I have found one source that states that Elizabeth Neyhart (daughter of George Neyhart and Nancy Anna Alabach) married George Phillips, with their children listed as Jacob, Hannah, Samuel, Elizabeth, and Phebe. This is the same family according to the children listed on censuses, again Mary is not included.
In 1860 Eliza Snyder (the daughter of William Snyder and Mary Phillips) at age 6 is living with George and Anna Neyhart. So, I'm sure I'm on the right track. Can any one place Mary as the daughter of George Phillips and Elizabeth Neyhart?
