Charlie; you posting caught my eye because Abel Niblett is in my line through my g-grandfather, who married the daughter (Emily Caroline Niblett) of Ellison Walker Niblett, one of the twin sons of Abel Niblett.
Abel Niblett moved his family from Jones Co., GA - with a stop in Troup Co., GA - to Meriwether Co., GA (he's listed for the 1830 & 1840) Census.By the 1850 Census (age 71) - Abel can be found Russell Co., AL; he died about 1857 according to his Will (I have a transcription if you're interested).
What I've not been able to link is an Edmund Niblett, born in GA about 1812 (according to Census records) who seemed to "follow" Abel Niblett in GA & AL.I'm learning toward Edmund being Abel's first son; but have no proof as he does not mention his children in his will.
Edmund Niblett was listed in the 1840, 1850, 1860 Census in Meriwether Co., GA - Muscogee Co., GA 1870 Census, and finally Russell Co., AL for the 1880 Census, where is he living alone (widowed) at 68.
Do you happen to have more on the Edmund Niblett I speak?
I believe he married Louisa Farlor Jan 11, 1838 in Marion Col., GA.
Please advise if any of this "clicks" for you...thanks..Jon
