My family can be traced to Montrose. I have listed two questions at the bottom that I'd apprecaite help with. The family head stone reads: Capt Robert Nicol who dies at RICA in June 1857 aged 53 years and his wife Catherine Anderson died the 22nd November 1872 age 70 years Thier son Capt Alex Nicol died at sea 6th of December 1864 age 32 years Also their son Capt Robert Nicol died 11th of July 1912 aged 71 years and his wife Elizabeth Clark died 13 May 1891 age 41 years and is interhned at Liverpool, their family Maria Clark died 1884 age 6 Andrew Clark died N.S.W. 1911 age 27 Kate Anderson died 1932 age 56 Winifred Soutar died 1967 age 79 Robert Nicol died NYC 1966 age 85
Does anyone know what RICA stands for, it does not seem to be a geographic place but some type of Royal Institue, and does anyone know where records can be found of those that die at sea ???????
