MARRIED. -- At Leon, Decatur County, Iowa, in the M.E. Church, on the evening of the 10th inst., l874, by the Rev. W.N. Colegrove, MR. N.H. THORPE, formerly attorney-at-law of Chariton, to MISS SALLIE V. NICOL, of Leon.
And thus they go, from among us, one by one the bachelor fraternity silently desert their old comrades, who look anxiously into the Eden of married bliss, but lack the courage to partake of its fruits, until at last their better judgment yields to the temptation, and they follow the joyous steps of those who have gone before.To ouryoung friends, NAT and SALLIE, whom we have known from childhood to maturity, we extend our heartiest wishes for a prolonged life of married bliss.They are well mated, and both possess the agreeable disposition necessary for insuring domestic happiness.
On Wednesday evening the married couple arrived at the residence of MR. M.E. THORPE and lady of this city, where a large number of their young friends had met to congratulate them upon their happy nuptials.Music, mirth, and feasting were indulged in to a late hour, when the guests of the evening retired to their homes.
